Dynamo Youth Water Polo - 2017
Dynamo Youth Water Polo is where High School and Middle School aged kids develop and improve their technical skills and understanding of the game.  Dynamo Youth Water Polo is a program of Dynamo Water Polo Club, one of the largest and most successful USA Water Polo clubs in the Southeastern United States.
Water polo experience is preferred but not required.  Players must complete 100 yards freestyle without stopping and in less than 2:00 minutes, with technique that meets the coaches’ satisfaction.  Space is limited.  Coaches have the right to make cuts/selections as they see fit.
Year-round swimmers from Dynamo Swim club other year-round programs are welcome, too.  Check with your USA Swimming coach to see if they will allow you to swap water polo practice for swim practice.  DWPC-Youth coaches are happy to answer their questions.
To register for the 2017 Dynamo Youth Water Polo season, please fill out this form. (No money required to register.)
2017 Training Schedule:
Spring training begins Tuesday, February 7th and runs through June.  If we qualify for the USAWP JO Championships in CA (JULY), practice will extend.
Practices are the following:
Tuesdays 7:30 - 9:30pm  (:30 min dryland, 1.5.hr Pool Workout)
Thursdays 7:30 - 9:30pm (1.5 hr. Strength And Conditioning/ :30 min White Board/Video)
Sundays 12:00 - 2:00 pm.(:30 min dryland, 1.5.hr Pool Workout)
We will travel to at least two away tournaments in 2017:
  • S.E. Zone  Junior Olympics Qualification Tournament:
    • June 10-11 in Orlando, FL
    • BOYS: July 22-25
    • GIRLS: July 27-30
We must compete in Zone Qualification tournament if we want to attend Junior Olympics.

Junior Olympics has two divisions: Championship & Classic.  Championship requires a high finish at Zone Qualifiers.  Classic is open to Zone Qualifer teams who finish below Championship-qualifying level.

Tournament costs are incremental and shared by participants.
Athletes provide:
·       Suit (Boys: Briefs preferred.  Girls: One piece.  Wide shoulder straps preferred.)
·       Goggles
·       Dryland clothes (tennis shoes, t-shirt, shorts, etc.)
You don’t need to buy a new/polo-specific suit just to show up.  Come with what you have and if you want to commit we can help you pick out a great water polo suit.  If you want to buy a water polo suit anyway, please use Turbo/Kap7. (They sponsor DWPC, the GHSWPA and our National Teams.)  We’ll share information about DWPC team suits and gear at the start of the season.
The club provides balls, caps, dryland equipment, etc.
$450.00 for the entire 5 month season (February – June)
Please do not pay dues or register with USAWP until the coaches tell you that you made the roster.  Dues and USAWP membership must be completed no later than the second week of the season.  Dues are paid via personal check payable to Dynamo Water Polo Club – YOUTH.
You must also register with United States Water Polo.  You can pay as little as $35/year (Bronze).  We recommend the $98/year (Gold) level, as this makes you eligible for Junior Olympics, the Olympic Development Program (ODP), etc.
Tournament costs are not included in dues.  Tournament costs (including coach travel costs) are divided equally among all participating players.
